One Response to How Monte Carlo simulations can forecast sales

  1. This sentence seems poorly stated – Monte Carlo simulations don’t transform data into models, the simulation is the model. The model/simulation transforms data into a forecast.

But don’t judge the piece by this single line, it actually presents a good short introduction to Monte Carlo modeling, why a retailer would want to use the technique in forecasting, and how to get started. Bad sentence, but useful article.
