Only the Super Bowl, presidential debates, the Oscars and a few other broadcasts attract the tens of millions of viewers that major advertisers, including movie studios and big consumer-product makers like PepsiCo Inc., long to reach.

    After a recount, Nielsen says it was the most watched Super Bowl ever, and the second most watched TV broadcast ever.

    I`d suspect a correlation here between viewing figures and the state of the economy. Tv is a nice cheap Sunday when you need to tighten your belt.
