I tell my students of the Pantheon of the EconGods. Tullock sits above them all, ready to hurl thunderbolts at any who displease Him. The ElderGods, sitting at the feet of Tullock, include Becker, Coase, Stigler, Friedman, Hayek. Then there are the Demi-Gods, who aspire to full Godhood – they have achieved Godhood in their own particular niches, but don’t quite have the transcendent character of the ElderGods. Shleifer, Glaeser, Hanson….
My students pray to the EconGods for good results on their tests and extentions to their assignments.
