The prediction markets were not accurate. The readers of Midas Oracle won’t be surprised by this total debacle, as I did publish a blog post in April 2007 lambasting the incompetents who entertained the idea that betting markets could be predictive on this one. They can’t.

The bizarre twist in this story is that our George Tziralis was over there, in Guatemala City, attending that damn 119th IOC session. Guess what… George Tziralis had put his faith on… Sochi. Congrats, man. First time I see a prediction market expert beating the betting markets. George, you’re great.
