Why do I want to publish about those social content websites on a blog devoted to prediction markets?

-

ANSWER: Because prediction market journalism should start off with a catch-all News-Of-The-Day module. How can an editor make up his/her determination about what’s hot? Those social content websites can help. Here’s my opinion on each of them.

-

DIGG: I don’t like it. It’s a run by a small gang of youngsters (collegians, or people just out of college) and I don’t feel we share the same world views.

-

SLASHDOT: It’s pretty good when it comes to parsing world news thru the lens of the anti-establishment nerdy developers, but those guys/gals skip away general IT news and politics.

-

TECHMEME/MEMEORANDUM/BALLBUG: Truly awesome. Usable and useful. I take them as feeds. Each day, they deliver many nuggets.

-

YAHOO! BUZZ: Kind of like Digg. Very weak in general IT and politics. (More Info: TechCrunch – Read & Write Web – Yahoo! Buzz)

-

-

UPDATE:

Here are some other news aggregators…
