I have just installed the PuSHPress plugin, and this post is a test to see whether it works. If yes, this post should be indexed quickly by Google Reader (and other feed readers).

UPDATE: I am so impressed, I could lay an egg. A brand-new post appears in Google Reader within seconds. I can’t believe it.

UPDATE 2: Any small editing is immediately fetched by Google Reader (provided it is done on the last 10 posts). Amazing.

Why the fuck would bloggers embed BetFair’s chart widgets if their blog readers can’t see these charts when using feed readers (like Google Reader)?

Once again, we can see plainly the incompetence of the BetFair team when it comes to blogging. They don’t have the first clue. In spite of my blogging and e-mailing this issue for years. So, not only are they totally incompetents, but they are also stubborn in their ineptitude. RSS is no MIT-level business —it is spelled “Really Simple Syndication”. If it “simple”, then BetFair should be able to figure it, one day, in the next coming decade —we hope.

For your information, here’s the webpage with the chart widget.

Addendum: InTrade, NewsFutures and HubDub’s chart widgets do go into feeds. They got it. And they have gotten it for years.

The usage of Twitter by Midas Oracle —so far:

- Talking publicly to some people important to us — see the first 2 messages (ranked anti-chronologically).

- Publishing an alternate to our RSS feed — see the last 2 messages.

Anybody sees a better usage of Twitter? George Tziralis tells me that I should “tweet more than just linking to [my] posts”. Do you share his views?

By the way, George Tziralis would like to see a list of the prediction market people using Twitter. I will do that in the future (probably adding the Twitter URLs on my “people” page). In the meantime, you could go to the Midas Oracle page at Twitter, click on “following”, and you will see them. (You will have to be logged in.)

P.S.: I am using Tweetie for Macintosh. (I understand that Tweetie is originally for the iPhone, though.). Is it the best software to use?

P.P.S.: Should the Midas Oracle account at Twitter be a collective account? Should it be used by moi, Jason Ruspini, and others? George Tziralis answered by the negative, but I saw many collective accounts at Twitter. What do you think?

UPDATE: It won’t be a collective account, but I am ready to list some PM people’s Twitter account on the sidebar. Let me know.

One way to solve the problem would be to use the “Smart YouTube” plugin. I won’t.

If I embed the YouTube video in the “HTML” area, and don’t click on “Visual” before publishing, all is fine —the YouTube video will end up in the feed reader. I’ll do that, now.

In my last post, I have embedded 7 YouTube videos on prediction markets (featuring Emile Servan-Schreiber of NewsFutures).

In my last post, I have embedded 7 YouTube videos on prediction markets (featuring Emile Servan-Schreiber of NewsFutures). While they work fine on the post within my web browser, they can’t be seen when that same post is displayed within a feed reader (such as Google Reader or Sage).

At this moment, I have no idea where the problem comes from. I would blame WordPress 2.7. (All was fine with the previous versions of WordPress.) Let me investigate that technical issue. I will post an update to this post, later on.

UPDATE: Still a mystery. A tipster tells me that the plugin “Smart YouTube” solves the problem.

UPDATE: If I embed the YouTube video in the “HTML” area, and don’t click on “Visual” before publishing, all is fine —the YouTube video will end up in the feed reader.
