I fully agree with Henry Blodget. We also screen commenters, here, on Midas Oracle.

As for anonymity:

One thing I learned about business journalism when I was actually in business (Wall Street) was that anyone who went on the record had an agenda. The only folks who told the real story were the anonymous background sources. So, here at least, I think it would be a mistake to force people to comment under their own names.

We publish anonymous sources only when it is truly necessary, but we prefer that people disclose their identity. Otherwise, some P.R. people hide under pseudonyms to puff their wind.

They are only a small bunch of comments each week, since registration is compulsory —but the comments are always smart. (See Paul Hewitt’s last comment on forecasting, for instance.)

Did you see the YouTube videos I just published? I understand ~~you saw a blue cube. Does clicking on this blue cube transport you to the YouTube app to watch the videos I selected~~?

Optional question, what should I do when I embed videos in my posts so that iPhone/iPad owners can watch the YouTube videos?

I have just installed the PuSHPress plugin, and this post is a test to see whether it works. If yes, this post should be indexed quickly by Google Reader (and other feed readers).

UPDATE: I am so impressed, I could lay an egg. A brand-new post appears in Google Reader within seconds. I can’t believe it.

UPDATE 2: Any small editing is immediately fetched by Google Reader (provided it is done on the last 10 posts). Amazing.
