My name is Philip Cleary and I am third year student at Brooklyn Law School. I am currently writing a paper on the US federal taxation of income (and losses) from prediction markets, mainly nonproperty derivatives based on political and financial outcomes (intrade, hedgestreet, IEM).

I have contacted IEM on how or if they report any winnings to the IRS. They have not gotten back to me. I am interested if anyone on this forum has speculated on IEM and if, upon withdrawal, or at the end of the calendar year, they received any tax or other kind of statement from IEM.

I appreciate any help. I may be reached at mcgillphil [at] yahoo [dot] com. I appreciate any help!

thanks,

Philip
