This concept seems to be more like an electronic suggestion box, not unlike those being tried in a variety of enterprises. If we keep in mind that they are not prediction markets, but rather examples of collective intelligence, I don’t see the harm.
Now, if someone was running a prediction market to forecast actual climate change, that would be ridiculous.
