Running WordPress.org on your own servers is a lot harder than just having them hosted {for free} on WordPress.com.

That was the hard lesson that life taught to our good doctor David Pennock. And now, it’s Robert Scobble’s turnsome hackers deleted 2 months of his blog.

- How to keep your WordPress blog secure

- For your information, Midas Oracle runs WordPress.org on DreamHost, and I take care of any updating as soon as they release new software (something David Pennock didn’t do). And, yes, there is always trouble coming from some plugins that are incompatible with the new up-to-date WordPress.org version, but I deal with that afterwards. It is less trouble than being hacked. Just ask our good doctor David Pennock.
