The risk free rate of return over the next years

Ben Shannon (alias “Jesse Livermore”, who blogs at “Wiser Than The Crowd”):

The risk free rate of return over the next 3 years is 9%.

Risk free rates are much lower, Deep Throat tips us. Ben Shannon doesn’t sound right. The risk free rate in the US and Canada is 0.25%. Even if you assume rate hikes, it is pretty unlikely you get an effective rate above 2%/year for the next 3 years.

UPDATE: “risk free rate” VERSUS “CD rates”
