Changing the world thru organic marketing and more objective predictions?

I have a question for you, guys.

- Do you think we could all start a movement and change the world?

Midas Oracle = Internet Strategy + Collective Forecasting

Our approach:

  • Organic marketing
  • Objective forecasting

Our means:

  • Mastering both the Internet Force (PageRank) and the Predictive Force (accuracy and precision).
  • Evangelizing thru blogging and workshops.

Our ethics:

  • Tell the truth, and get results.
  • Don’t do evil.

- Does it sound like a program to you?
- Do see any traction in that simple mission statement?
- What would you do differently? Leave a comment.
- Any other suggestions? Do you like it that I made it simple? At the contrary, do you think is it too simplistic?
- What are the movements out there you think I should look at?
- Who are the people I should add in the list?

  1. Paul Hewitt says:

    Hi Chris…

This is just off the top of my head. The mission is missing the objective(s) of this movement. i.e. what is your purpose of doing this? Marketing for whom? to whom? Change the world? How?

I do like the idea of utilizing a “movement” to accomplish major objectives. I think your idea has merit, it just needs focus. Then you will need a business plan and a strategic plan to meet your objectives. That’s my specialty.

Finally, I’m a bit confused by your putting “accuracy and precision” in the same sentence as “Predictive Force”! Aren’t you very, very skeptical on prediction market accuracy? Or are you thinking of alternative, more accurate, means of forecasting?

I’m certainly interested in learning more.

  2. Paul,

I love your interest. I am into a meeting —will comment tomorrow or Monday.

    Have a great week-end,

    Chris

  3. I am making a prediction that any initiative that does not embrace the thesis of original sin is doomed to an early death. Maybe you need to tweak that last objective.

  4. My reply to Paul Hewitt (and sorry for the delay).

There is way to vastly improve the marketing of e-commerce sites. Currently, they mainly rely on Google Ads and affiliate links.

Now, if you look at information sites (a.k.a. “blogs”), those vertical media have a knack for getting inbound links, reaching a high PageRank, and creating and nurturing a community.

That kind of organic marketing is something that e-commerce are not able to do. I am developing arguments for them to embrace it.

Industrial operators should (in my views) totally externalize both the strategy and the execution of their Internet presence. I am testing this argument in my area.

I want to create a business with two bases: Internet strategy and collective forecasting. I want to associate those 2 legs.

I will explain things differently next time, to convey my ideas better. Feel free to ask questions.
