Whenever a site gets redesigned — no matter how usable (or unusable) the new design is — there will be griping among the users who are used to the site. Users hate change. HSX obviously missed this key point. Part of any successful redesign (aside from usability testing of the new designs, and all that) is ensuring that your users have a chance to see the new design and comment on it before it goes live. Facebook — whatever you think of their new design — and Amazon have learned this lesson well. They give previews of site redesigns and allow users to comment before the launch. As HSX is learning, you lose a lot of goodwill by taking your user for granted.

What is impressive with HSX is the big number of veteran traders who say, privately or publicly, that they will never come back.
