Mozilla FireFox users, do you have trouble downloading academic papers (as PDF files) from SSRN?

I do. I notice that PDF file downloads work fine with MicroSoft Internet Explorer. But when I download a PDF file from SSRN with my Mozilla FireFox, it says that the PDF file is corrupted when I try to open it with my Adobe Reader. Should I blame FireFox, or can’t SSRN handle FireFox well? Who’s to blame?

UPDATE: I have disabled all the FireFox add-ons, and still impossible to get anything from SSRN. Still investigating… I will update you…

  1. I was able to download Bell’s paper using Firefox.  Just slight confusion, when the site wouldn’t let me download before I was logged in as a registered user (but instead of telling me I wasn’t logged in, it told me that the paper was not found).  Once I was logged in, the file downloaded fine.

  2. @Michael Giberson: Did you verify that your downloaded PDF file could be opened with your Adobe Reader? That was the point.

  3. Yes, opened the file, saw all 19 pages.

  4. @Michael Giberson: I was not logged in. That was one difference with your experience.
