John Ives (formerly of Storage Markets):
We experimented with using Yahoo! Pipes with Storage Markets. We created several Pipes to collect and feed market specific content to our traders. [...]
[W]hile the Yahoo! Pipes environment appeared to work flawlessly, it suffers from the GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out) problem. Specifically, very few information sources provide enough of the XML descriptive content fields to allow the Pipes to filter as well as they are capable. Very few sources used the correct date in date fields or provided useful descriptions. As a result, the Pipes based filters could not be tuned to yield good quality information. Again… Yahoo! Pipes worked fine, they just suffered from GIGO.
