You can assess the Web popularity of a blog by checking its server stats or its Google Analytics stats. But there’s another way to check how much a readership is really committed with the blogger: counting the number of machines (used by active readers, we hope) that have subscribed to his/her blog feed.

The picture above shows the number of feed subscribers for the Google Reader (and iGoogle), but if you browse the whole daily raw logs, you will spot the numbers from all the other Web-based feed readers —but not for the PC-based feed readers, alas.
