Philanthropy + Prediction Markets = Growth Area

Last July (2007), I told you about an interesting Lady (Lucy Bernholz), whom I read about in the New York Times, who is an expert in philanthropy business (being a consultant for foundations), and who got interested in the idea of foundations subsidizing some socially valuable prediction markets. (Robin Hanson gave his stamp of approval in a short comment.) Well, the good news is that that philanthropy expert (Lucy Bernholz) has not given up and maintains her high level of curiosity for the prediction markets. She has just blogged out that she loves Bet2Give, hence joining the club (Chris Masse, Art Hutchinson, Justin Wolfers, etc.). And, like P. T. Barnum, she promises more ( :-D ):

Given the interest in prizes that my posts have generated since early 2007, I’ll continue exploring the intersections between philanthropy, markets and prizes in more depth – and in video – as the October theme over on the Giving Channel. New content will be posted by October 21 – and we’ll remind you here.

I can’t wait.
