I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil.

UPDATE:

I was not saying that that’s the administration’s motive,” Greenspan said in an interview Saturday, “I’m just saying that if somebody asked me, ‘Are we fortunate in taking out Saddam?’ I would say it was essential.”

  1. Something else that it is politically inconvenient to mention, is the fact that there are clear signs emerging from Iraq that the Sunnis of Saudi Arabia and their allies; including the Jordanians, have been inolved in equipping and training Sunni extremists.

The weapons and munitions have been not only been used against their Shia and Kurdish enemies; but also, in the shape of roadside bombs, against US forces. Any mention of this, would of course
undermine Bush’s case against the demon of Iran – Ahmadinejad.

So the case for a war against Iran still looks pretty clear; with the chances of a US/Israeli Overt Air Strike against Iran, before 2008, looking good.
