Pay attention how the “scientist” inputs his price. He does not type it —he moves a horizontal slide to quantify his opinion. Very usable. Great idea. Horizontal would have been better, in my view.

Are the market prices trustworthy?
The prices reflect the consensus view of all the people involved. It is up to you to decide if someone more qualified can guide you. It is very much like the stock market. If stock XYZ is trading at $25.25 then that is its value at that time. Certainly people will have opposing views and act upon those views. That is the beauty of a market. It collects all these view and coordinates them. The price may go up or down based on the collective conviction of all participants.
