#1. They have developed a Yahoo! Widget that will display the results quickly. (They chose Yahoo! Widgets because it is a cross-platform solution. See my post on the sidebar blog for more on web widgets and desktop widgets.) See the BetFair Result Widget at BetFair Preview.
#2. They are developing a dual MicroSoft Vista Widget. The BetFair Bet Watcher widget is nothing Earth shattering. However, the BetFair Mystery widget uses random (instead of the speculator’s choice) to simplify trading. Not a bad idea [*] —but we will see whether this sophisticated gambling product will interest the sophisticated traders (and ex-punters). Smart idea, but I want to see the marketing of it. [*] Using random in the input process. You can also use random in the output process —nothing Earth shattering (I have similar ideas for the prediction markets).

#3 Spot the BetFair add-on for FireFox —it’s a useful toolbar with all the right BetFair links. I got it. See it at BetFair Labs.
#4. Spot the BetFair Lite. It’s great because, for the first time, it gives you permanent links —i.e., fixed URLs. Unfortunately, they don’t have the last price and the volume. (If you want permanent links with the normal BetFair site, then what you can do is to fish for the permanent link in the history cache of your browser —at least, it works with FireFox.)
